Inspiration at Cypress Grove, Point Lobos, CA

I have attempted to capture the effects of sunlight and shadow on one of my favorite vistas: the steps leading up to Cypress Grove in Point Lobos, CA.
Technique: Hand appliqué was used to create the landscape and trees, which were then merged into a machine pieced impressionist-style sky. Fabric origami enabled me to suggest the native succulent plants that drape over the rocky cliffs. Glass and stone beads add detail.
