Grand Canyon Sunset

The Grand Canyon is awe inspiring in its beauty.
Technique: The central horizontal third of the quilt is a fabric collage with tulle overlay and free motion quilting. The bottom horizontal third is hand appliquéd. I hand painted the sky and then free motion quilted it. Materials used were striped batiks, Dupioni silk, and a pleated fashion fabric.
