No matter what the language – Shalom Aleichem, Assalamu Aleikum, Om Mani Padme Hum, or Peace Be Unto You – I believe in humanity’s universal desire for peace.
Technique: This is a fabric collage using batiks and plain white muslin for architectural elements, with hands and faces drawn with Caran d’Ache pencils and permanent markers; shadows are layered tulle. Words are hand appliquéd onto the borders, which were then hand quilted.
