Hawking’s Bubbles II: e=mc2

Every quilt is an adventure! What to portray and how to do it? This quilt was inspired by a photograph of soap bubbles.
Technique: Pieces were cut from four cotton batiks and laid on black cloth over batting; layers of netting were added and then a final layer of tulle. Machine quilting ‘trapped’ the collage under the tulle, and beading was applied along the edges of the bubbles.
